Papillon


The Papillon is of French and Belgium origin, becoming popular in the 1800’s. It is used for police and military work along with making a dependable guide dog. It is a dog that has no enemies due to its friendly and outgoing nature.

The Papillon is strictly an indoor pet that does not take well to children, faring best as a companion for singles or couples. It is a low maintenance breed that requires little if any exercising. It has been rated as having an above average intelligence rating, with excellent problem solving ability and above average abilities to learn and obey commands.

The Papillon has a coat of long, fine, silky hair with fringing on the tail, chest, ears and legs. Its colorings are white with a markings of brown and/or black on the face , nose and ears. It sheds minimally and needs only an occasional brushing. This spry breed with its pointy long haired ears reaches a height of 8-11 inches and has a weight comparable to its height.
