The Beauceron breed dogs originated in France and used for the hunting of wild boars. They were then adapted for sheep herding, and eventually to police dogs. It is a sensitive, calm dog that does well with children. These breed dogs can adapt to living indoors or outdoors, but prefer the outdoors, and require regular daily exercise.
The Beauceron breed dogs have an above average intelligence, are excellent at problem solving and learning and obeying commands, and are easily trained. They socialize well and make a good protector.
The Beauceron breed dogs have a coat of short, dense hair that requires weekly brushing, and sheds. The colorings are usually black and tan or harlequin with tan markings particularly on the feet. Beaucerons have a perfectly straight back and carry a beautiful poise, with cropped ears.These breed dogs are well built and muscular reaching a height of 28 inches, and weighing from 66-85 pounds.
