Belgian Griffons

The Belgian Griffon dog breed originates from, where else but, Belgium. It was probably a derivative of the Affenpinscher, of which its snout bears similarities.

The Belgian Griffon dog breed is a happy and entertaining breed that associates well with people. Its sensitive, alert good nature contributes to its need for moderate training, and precise obedience. They prefer to live indoors and requiring regular daily exercise.

The Belgian Griffon dog breed fur is wiry, hard and disheveled and needs occasional stripping. The tails are docked and the ears cropped. Their coat is uniformly colored black or black with tan, black with red, and does not shed.

The Belgian Griffon dog breed is a favorite lap dog with two sizes: one up to 6 ½ pounds and one up to 11 pounds. The height remains the same for both: 7-8 inches.
