Bolognese

The Bolognese dog breed can be traced back to Italy during the Renaissance, a favorite of the Medici. It is derived that they descend from the Bichon. The Bolognese dog breed declined in importance with the end of the Renaissance.

The Bolognese dog breed is a playful, happy, lovable dog that thrives around adults and children, preferring to live indoors close to its master. It does require some daily exercise, as well as a good all- round training. With its shaggy white hair most people assume that the Bolognese dog breed is going to require a time-consuming amount of grooming, but with just a daily brushing its coat will stay tangle free. It is covered with a coat of soft, white, fluffy hair that does shed.

The Bolognese dog breed, with its acute eyesight and sense of hearing, is ever on the alert and goes on guard if it suspects something unusual. With its affectionate small frame this dog weighs form 5 ½ -9 pounds and ranges in height from 10-12 inches.
