Toy Fox Terrier

The Fox Terrier (Toy) came to the US in the 1800’s where it was breed down from the Fox Terrier (Smooth). Two distinct classification emerged: the Smooth going to the terrier class and the Toy to its own toy class. It was originally used for hunting, but now has established itself as a companion dog for the elderly as well as the handicapped and deaf.

The Fox Terrier (Toy) is an indoor dog that requires no outdoor exercise, because of its small size it takes care of its own fitness right within its home. It has a high overall intelligence rating, excellent ability to solve problems, and above average aptitude to learn and obey commands.

The Fox Terrier (Toy) has a short, smooth coat with colorings of tricolor with white. It does shed, but requires little if any grooming. Its tail is docked. This tiny breed that is alert and watchful reaches a height of only 10 inches and weighs a mere 3-7 pounds
